ROME — The cowardly captain of the Italian cruise ship that ran aground says he tripped and fell into a lifeboat when there were still at least 300 passengers aboard and watched the ship sink once he got to land. The Italian daily La Repubblica reported today that Schettino told investigators he tripped, fell overboard and ended up in a rescue boat.
Don’t you hate when that happens? I once saw a blind person walking into traffic but I tripped and ended up in my bed.
